SHE REP

SHE Rep stands for Safety, Health and Environment Representative. In many South African workplaces, the legal term used in the Occupational Health and Safety Act is Health and Safety Representative.

A SHE Rep is an employee representative who helps monitor workplace safety, identify hazards, report unsafe conditions, investigate complaints, participate in inspections, and communicate employee health and safety concerns to management.

The purpose of the SHE Rep is not to replace management. The employer still has the main legal duty to provide and maintain a safe working environment. The SHE Rep supports this by acting as a link between employees and management.
