An Operational OHS Risk Assessor is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and controlling health and safety risks within day-to-day workplace operations. The role focuses on ensuring that work activities, equipment, environments, and procedures comply with Occupational Health and Safety requirements while protecting employees, contractors, visitors, and the business.
The assessor conducts workplace inspections, risk assessments, hazard identification, incident reviews, and control measure evaluations. They work closely with management and operational teams to reduce risks, improve safe work practices, and support a strong safety culture.
Key responsibilities include assessing operational hazards, recommending corrective actions, monitoring compliance, maintaining risk registers, supporting audits, investigating incidents, and ensuring that control measures are practical and effective. The role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of OHS legislation, good communication skills, and the ability to apply risk management principles in real working environments.
