This skills programme is designed to prepare learners to function as Fire Appliance Drivers / Operators: Mobile Water Supply. Learners are trained to drive and operate a mobile water supply appliance in compliance with the Road Traffic Act and established Standard Operating Procedures.
The programme focuses on the safe operation of a fire mobile water supply appliance during emergency response situations and other on-site conditions. Learners will build knowledge of fire mobile water supply operations, preventative maintenance, communication, defensive driving, vehicle manoeuvring and appliance readiness.
By completing this skills programme, learners will be able to conduct inspections on a mobile water supply appliance, carry out site-specific task-risk assessments, and operate the appliance as needed in response to emergencies.
